NETIS Registration Number QS-180037-VE Stiffness Reducing Agent
[Suitable for heat-weather admixtures (added separately)]
ThixoReduce is a new type of chemical admixture that significantly improves pumpability and reduces concrete stiffness when added to base concrete.Concrete "stiffness" is a phenomenon in which the fluidity of concrete is temporarily significantly reduced due to the proximity and agglomeration of cement particles.By using thixo-reduce, not only pumpability but also workability such as handling and filling are greatly improved.
Mechanism of stiffness
The cement paste that makes up fresh concrete is a high-concentration suspension of cement dispersed in water. When left to stand, the cement particles agglomerate to form flocs, which act as shear resistance when the concrete begins to flow. .This phenomenon affects the thixotropy of concrete. In a pressure environment, the agglomeration structure of cement particles becomes stronger, and if concrete is left to stand in a pipe for long-distance pumping, there is a concern that the pumping load will increase during re-pumping.
Thixo-reduce contains components that remain in the liquid phase without being adsorbed to cement particles, and has the effect of suppressing the formation of aggregate structures when particles are in close proximity. This reduces the "stiffness" of the static concrete.
